We are preparing
a new AANC calendar system that will allow more people to
post calendar entries.

- 2010 Feb 10, 7:30 PM Evolution of Galaxies, with
Dr. Anne Metevier SCAS, at Proctor Terrace School,
1171 Bryden Lane, Santa Rosa. In these amazing times
of astronomical discovery we know that the panoply
of stars we see are part of our galaxy, and that ours
is just one of a mind-boggling and innumerable zoo
of other galaxies. As we use new instruments and techniques
to see farther into distance and time, we see patterns
in the way the universe expresses itself by the way
it organizes matter (luminous and dark) into galaxies,
clusters of them. Now you have an opportunity to come
hear a researcher on the cutting edge of the study
of galactic evolution as we welcome Dr. Anne Metevier
to present her talk, “Studying the Evolution of Disk
Galaxies Over the Last 7 Billion Years”.
